What does “Impression” mean in advertising?

An impression is a term used to quantify the number of views an advertisement gets. Impressions are also referred to as an “ad view.”

In Google Ads, for example, an impression is counted each time your ad is shown on a search result page or another site on the Google Network. Each time your ad appears on Google or the Google Network, it triggers one impression count
