What is Cost Per Click in PPC?

Updated on June 23, 2021

In Pay per Click (or PPC) marketing campaigns, Cost per Click (or CPC)  means a fee that you (will) pay for each click in order for your display ads to be displayed.

If you are targeting 200 clicks for your ad, then you will have to pay $200 USD assuming the CPC for your chosen keyword is $1 USD.

PPC only charges you for clicks, so you won’t have to pay for the number of views (a.ka. Impressions) on that ad. An alternative to PPC is CPI (Cost Per Impression) or CPM (Cost per Mille).
