What is Website Hosting?

Updated on August 30, 2021

Web hosting, also called Website Hosting, or simply called Hosting, is a service that allows us to upload your website or web page onto the world wide web.

We host, or store your website, Webmails emails, and all its crucial files on special computers called servers. When your website users or customers want to visit your website, all they need to do is type your website address or domain into their browser’s address bar, and they would be pointed to the requested page or resource on your website.

Hosting and domain are two different things, but both are required in order for us to build your website. It is impossible to create a website with just one of them.

Things to know

Host (verb) – To upload a website and associated files onto the webserver

It is the service that allows us to host your websites on the webserver so that internet users throughout the world can access them via their respective website addresses or domain names. This service is billed annually, so you would be required to renew your plan at the end of each billing cycle, hence the term, “Hosting plan”.
